Jets OffSeason Already Fraught With Peril

This offseason might be the last for Joe Douglas. When the Jets signed Mike Williams I had no idea that he wasn’t going to be ready from his ACL tear by training camp. Now, Robert Saleh is saying it’s a lot like Breece Hall’s recovery. Hold on, at 29, this is risky and the Jets acted like it was no big deal.

The Douglas bargain shopping for wide receivers has to stop. They’ve had no luck with that. Draft another stud. I have some ideas on that.

The Jets need some smart decision making and the fact that they didn’t add to the coaching staff, whether that’s an Aaron Rodgers or team choice wasn’t a good idea.

I hate to say it but the good teams have big off-seasons and the Jets are now predicated on hope once again. Remember how the Jets didn’t want to use Hall very much at the start of the season, the same will hold for Williams so what are we talking about, week five before he’s close to his old self?

Corey Davis is currently retired. Now the Jets are trying to lure him out. Why? As an insurance policy against a player, they already invested $10-15 million dollars. What’s the best way to fix a problem? The Jets’ answer is to bring a player back who is uncertain about playing the game and probably overpaying him. This is classic overspending. Maybe this money should have been allocated for Bryce Huff. Saleh certainly misses him already.

Everything for the upcoming Jets season is on a wing and a prayer. If it hits, it will hit, if it misses, it will be a gigantic miss again.

I think Woody Johnson is on edge about this based on some reports coming from a team dinner after the NFL meetings, that may or may not be true. And he has a right to be on edge as they head into the NFL Draft with Zach Wilson still on the roster I might add.

The Jets are in no better shape than last season currently.
