Dylan Larkin Doesn’t Just Fly Down The Ice

Known for flying down the ice, Detroit Red Wings forwards Dylan Larkin and Justin Abdelkader earned another set of wings when they took to the sky with the Breitling Jet Team on Thursday prior to the team’s performance at the Thunder Over Michigan Air Show this weekend.

Soaring at 10,000 feet, the Breitling Jet Team maneuvered their seven L-39C Albatros Jets within just a few feet of each other at speeds of up to 565mph. The Red Wings experienced loops and barrel rolls similar to those displayed by the pilots during the second and last year of their American Tour.

At one point Larkin said, “no rolls”. So he wasn’t totally fearless.

Supported by Breitling, the independent Swiss watch company, the Breitling Jet Team is the largest professional civilian jet team in the world.
