Mike Richter Still Has a Huge Following

Yonkers, NY – – Last evening Mike Richter attended a Rangers viewing party at the Empire City Casino in Yonkers. He was signing autographs for free and did that with a smile for around 2 hours. He took pictures with fans and talked about the 1994 Stanley Cup season that still resonates with the fan base.

“Rangers fans are passionate and they came out here with a huge crowd. These viewing parties are really fun,” he said. “Look, I like watching the game but to do it around these maniac fans is a fun thing to do. It’s a really good event.”

Dan Rooney’s Sports Bar was packed and had some great food and drink selections. They had a lot of televisions and the fans were watching hockey only.

During the evening the fans were chanting “Let’s Go Rangers” like it was a home game. I loved the atmosphere and the staff was really selling the hockey experience.

Mike Richter has donated his brain to science. He’s passionate about brain research. He may not be showing any symptoms of any kind of disease but that doesn’t mean he didn’t want to get involved in a big way to try and find a cure for CTE.

“I think we all have to move forward in just what our understanding of the research is whether you played professional sports, youth sports or whether you’ve been in a car accident. These are things that will help other people in the long run.”

The place looks great. There are plenty of slot machines etc. I wouldn’t hesitate in going back. A good time was had by all.
