The Jets Continue To Make Bad In-Game Decisions Footballology by Russ_Cohen - October 19, 2026October 19, 20260 Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Send email Mail Print Print The Jets’ recent loss to the New England Patriots took the wind out of the fanbases’ sails because it was a winnable game. Did the entire mess start when head coach Aaron Glenn thought he was getting the ball in the second half and said it on national television? If that wasn’t bad enough, then after he was asked about that answer by ESPN’s Rich Cimini, the video feed went black. Come on, what else do fans need to see? The organization needs to wake up and realize they do have a better team but can’t win with this coaching staff. That’s the biggest issue. Geno Smith hasn’t been good, but at times, he has done just enough. We can talk about Xs and Os all day long, but why did the Jets abandon the running game? The Jets had 27 rushing attempts, 20 in the first half and seven in the second half. Why? Frank Reich made a lot of questionable calls but the head coach changed that and neither did, and it affected the outcome of the game. It was working; they should have kept it going. The Jets’ draft picks are looking good, and I expect this season to go as I thought: 3-5 wins. After that, I just want to see some of their young players develop. I can’t expect anything more after the last game. That was malpractice, plain and simple. Mike Tomlin is building online cities. He’s bored and probably wants to coach again. He’s not a media guy at heart. The Jets should get aggressive about this instead of waiting for the perfect time. That time was yesterday, and there’s no change, so now I have no idea what to expect for the rest of the season. When the Jets have two minutes or less, you can see the dysfunction. I blame the head coach but the playcalling could be a part of it as well. The combination is bad, and they need to see which it is before the end of the season. Good thing they are playing the winless Miami Dolphins next. There are no expectations for this game, and let’s see what they can do when that’s the case.
