Tropicana Field Will Be Fun To See Again Baseballology by Russ_Cohen - January 28, 2026January 28, 20260 Share on Facebook Share Share on TwitterTweet Share on Pinterest Share Share on LinkedIn Share Send email Mail Print Print I’ve been to Tropicana Field when the team was the Devil Rays. The lighting was horrid, and Torii Hunter confirmed that a long time ago in an interview. Since Hurricane Milton, the ballpark will be updated, and I’m excited to see it. The new turf is expected to be installed any day now. I wonder what that will look like. The outside looks a bit better than it used to. They’re getting a new scoreboard, and the lighting is all new, so this ballpark won’t be as horrific as it once was. It looks like the weird ground rules won’t change because the roof structure is the same. You can’t win them all. MLB has to be happy since they can get real revenue now, if fans show up to see the new digs, but anything is better than a minor league ballpark like Sacramento. Baseball season starts next month. Get excited!
