Ed Hearn was a member of the 1986 New York Mets team that won a World Championship. He played for the Kansas City Royals as well. After his career was over he became a speaker. I interviewed him after he had successfully overcome potential kidney failure 20 years ago when he received a transplant.
He was generous with his time and took me into the locker room of the 1986 Mets. He’s sent me Christmas cards, he’s a great guy. Now he needs our help again. He’s dangerously close to kidney failure for the second time in his life.
Hearn is now looking for a kidney match. Here is what you can do if you’re interested in helping him find his match. https://www.kidney.org/transplantation/livingdonors/testing-living-donor-evaluation-process
