The New York Jets Are a Rodgers or Bust Organization

Joe Douglas got used regarding the Haason Reddick situation. He will eventually come back to get paid, but Eagles GM Howie Roseman knew he wouldn’t get a raise in either organization, so he paid Bryce Huff and stole a draft pick from the Jets. So, Douglas has to watch Aaron Rodgers and hope like the rest of us. His job will depend on that.

As Jets fans, we have seen it all. I covered the Brett Favre practice in the same way as Rodgers. Same fanfare, same enthusiasm, same results, NOTHING. As fans, we are all in on Rodgers and that’s that. I don’t care what he does, how he does it, as long as he wins.

This has to be the Jets year. The playoffs are probable, there is some depth on this team and the offense should be one of the best in the NFL. Should be. Could be. This is all we have.

There will be a lot of Rodgers fans pulling for the Jets and that’s great. The team needs all the support that they can get.

I don’t care if Rodgers doesn’t play in preseason. It’s fine. If he’s a little rusty in Game 1 but survives the first game, that’s a bonus. At that point, I might get giddy.

I think the Jets should refrain from trying to get Devante Adams. Work with what you have. Most of the Green Bay guys have been marginal to bad. Adams will cost too much, and the Jets can’t spend more assets. They must have one eye on the future in case this doesn’t work. If it doesn’t, they will clean house, maybe Rodgers stays, maybe not, and then we are all back to wondering when it will be “our year.”

I will go out on a limb and say the Jets will get 10 wins this season. I don’t feel comfortable predicting more than that and I don’t love their schedule, that’s a factor for me too.

Let’s see what they have! For now, I will try to remain calm until the season starts with a healthy Rodgers once again.
