The Aaron Rodgers era is over. He may finish the season and maybe the New York Jets will have a six-win season. It will be forgettable the same way it has been every time they get a veteran quarterback except for Vinny Testaverde.
The Jets are stuck in a cycle of drafting a quarterback, it doesn’t work out, and then they look to a veteran. It doesn’t work and I’m getting tired of seeing ownership do this. Ownership needs to hire a new school general manager by interviewing everybody. Obviously, who must clear out the coaching staff 100%, with no exceptions. The Jets need to start over with an actual plan. I never believed in Joe Douglas, and he didn’t do anything to prove me wrong. I’d love to be proven wrong.
Trade Davante Adams to the highest bidder. Let Rodgers ride out the season or walk away. Either way, the Jets will get the same results. Only an eight-game winning streak could put them in contention, and I’d love to see the odds on that one.
Rodgers tried; it failed. Woody always tries and it always fails. That’s the constant here. We all know it and fans can’t do much about that. Johnson needs to hire 2-3 scouts known for drafting quarterbacks. Let them be the consensus and find them that guy. Not the new GM, GMs aren’t scouts and Douglas wanting Zach Wilson is a perfect example of that failing on a grand scale.
The Jets viewing will be down for the rest of the season. They will get flexed out of prime-time games and there will be a lot of jokes made about the team today. The national media loves the Jets when they do well but most of them like ripping on them and saying the “same old Jets”. It’s an old standard. Somebody has to change that. The problem is, we have no idea who that might be.
