After hitting a few more ballparks in the past few weeks, I have some suggestions for Major League Baseball to implement. To make the fan experience better in some cases and some are just gripes.

1. It’s great that you have the advanced stats on the big board, but two of us couldn’t find how many strikeouts the starting pitcher had in the game. Walks as well, and I had to go on my phone to find out. I shouldn’t have to do that.
2. If you have someone who should be a leadoff hitter, or a #2, then put them there. This is a managerial thing, and the Phillies are a good example, having Luis Arraez hitting cleanup. He has 5 RBI in 6 games, which is great, but he’s hitting .259, and he was hitting .324 before he got there. Teams put weird players in the leadoff spot and don’t put natural leadoff hitters there anymore, and that’s baffling.
3. Unless it’s extra innings, teams shouldn’t be allowed to put position players in to pitch. It’s mismanagement of the bullpen that gets them there, and fans in attendance are cheated. The novelty quickly goes away when a player goes in for the second inning, as Mets catcher Luis Torrens did recently. Do better. It’s not about the rosters; it’s about not extending your starters. Fix that.
4. This running through second base goes against the spirit of the game. Stop having players do it. Nobody wants to wait for a challenge to see how the call goes on something that never was an issue for 100 or more years.
5. A few of these gripes have resulted in the game taking longer than it should. Remember when the league wanted to make games shorter? Well, on average, they are now four to six minutes longer this season compared to other seasons. ABS is being blamed, and that’s a part of it. How about when PitchCom fails? That happens every game. Are players faking that at times to slow down the game? It makes me wonder.
